Problem

Create a name and a brand for a major new appeal that would sit alongside the main charity brand to provide clarity and impact for fundraising.

Solution

A brand that represents the scale of the appeal along with its core purpose that will allow us to create a strong campaign theme and messaging.


Having completed a brand transformation project for Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospitals Charity, we were tasked with creating a name and brand identity for their next major appeal.

The appeal aims to raise £17.5m to create a new state-of-the-art cancer centre to help transform cancer care in Gloucestershire. At its heart, this new facility is all about space – both the literal, physical space of the new building and the metaphorical, emotional space this provides.

With this in mind, The Big Space Cancer Appeal was deemed the perfect name to represent the scale and aims of the appeal. With this in place we set to work creating a brand identity to bring everything to life.

It was important that the appeal brand worked harmoniously with the main charity brand, while being strong enough to stand out on its own. Our strong campaign theme and messaging provided the clarity and impact the charity was looking for.

So far this has been rolled out across the charity’s website alongside supporting materials such as brochures and pull-ups, with lots more in the pipeline.
